Lone Lake was fairly popular on Saturday with about 15 folks fishing at once when I made a quick head count. It was a mixed bag of good and bad weather and hit/miss fishing. Very slow in the morning with some nasty wind and no action and then everyone seemed to have fish on around noon and the weather improved as well to keep us on the water for another couple of hours. I had one nice 'bow to hand working in shallow water near shore with a damselfly nymph pattern and my dad released two fish on a olive chironomid under an indicator (he had multiple missed take-downs as well).
The weeds are still down for now so all water on the lake was very fishable. The local neighbors were down at the launch handing out information on the future weed control plans (and soliciting donations) so it sounds like they are putting together a long term management strategy which might include another round of chemical weed killer and possibly applying for a permit to allow for sterile grass carp to be introduced into the lake.
