I fished Rife on the 14th of Oct and again on the 20th
with excellent results for smallies. Concentrated on the east end of the lake and fished submerged rock piles. Caught 6 on the 14th and only 4 on the 20th all released unharmed. Also, by accident, caught two silvers? landlocked Coho? the biggest of which was 17 inches. Nice fish. The water level is down now about 29 inches and there are lots of rock hazards so be careful. A friend
of mine nearly took off his lower end when he hit and old concrete pillar that was 6 inches under water and it is a good 24 inches square. Could be a real impact on someone who is unaware. I would advise against launching at Komos Dr. unless you are real sure of your vehicle and your boat/trailer are not too heavy. However there is about 5 - 6 foot of depth now but might not be next week as the lake will drop another 10 or 12 inches. As for me, I will launch at Mossyrock and run the lake provided the wind is not too rough. One more thing. I talked to another bass fisherman who said he was getting good size largemouth as well as smallies at night.
