Me and my friend left to the lake at about 10:00 am. and got our poles in the water at about 10:15. We were fishing off of a dock near the "pub". This is probably the best shore fishing spot. There is also a new dock just built near Emorys.(resturant) and people were doing quit well there. They were using worms and catching planted trout. They averaged about 9"-11". We were using
orange Power Bait on size 12 hooks. Had 2 barrel weights and about a 2 ft. leader. Our poles weren't catchin' us any fish, so we decided to dock fish. We would take about 10' of line and put a worm on a hook. We dropped it down in the water and started to pull up perch left and right. At about 11:30 or so,
We started to get strikes on our poles. The rainbow trout ranged about 10"- 12". They were pretty nice fish. At the end of the day we caught a total of 7 rainbows and about 10 small perch. A little tip- If your going to go fishing at Silver lake make sure you go early in the morning because the dock atracts lots of people later in the day to about 11:00 am. to 6:00 pm. From what I
know about trolling is I've only caught 2 fish in this lake. I caught a small perch with a Hot Shot. And I caught a 7" trout with a larger flat fish.
