I fished Lake Goodwin on Saturday morning, June 13. My first time on this particular lake. Got to the lake around 5am, and fished until 8:30am. Fished primarily for largemouth, throwing topwater Tiny Torpedo, Zara Spook, and Rapala-like jerkbait. Had one smallmouth come after the Torpedo, nothing else.
Switched to a brown jig-n-pig with white pork trailer and worked it all around the docks. Still nothing. Found the deepest water I could find and jigged some leadheads, still nothing. Oh well! Saw lots of sunfish. Cloudy and cool morning, but the water was incredibly warm. One bass guy I talked to at the launch said his electronics read a water temp of 70 degrees! He also mentioned
that two weeks earlier he had pulled a half-dozen largemouth out of the lake, none of them less than 5 pounds. Maybe he was exaggerating, maybe not!
