Worked Warden Lake from about 3PM to 6PM.
Not a lot of traffic on lake (12 to 15 boats) plus couple dozen people fishing from shore.
I started at North end casting spinners and
worked my way toward south end trolling various forms of flatfish, tbs's, and flies.
Surface temp at north end was 51 to 52 F but
warmed as I moved to south end to 53 to 55F.
It was a warm sunny day, so the water temp
was probably rising as I fished.
didn't get any hits until I got to south half of lake and there seemed to be a good population of stockers down there (max 10").
I shook them all before they could get too close to the boat, but had several dozen strikes in all. The shallows at extreme south end of lake seemed especially good with
some fish hitting the small black sonic spinner with single barbless hook, over and over.
Another difference I noted between north and south end of lake was that the water seemed to be much clearer at north end. About 2/3rds way down the lake it seemed to get murky... not sure why. But if I were shorebound and just wanted something wiggling at end of line, would head to south end and cast a bobber with something that tastes like hatchery food hanging below it. I would also use pretty small hooks, 'cuz these aren't humongous piscatorials.
