Arrived at Lake Shoecraft at around 1100am. I grew up out here and haven't been back in about 10 years, it was just like I remembered. The boat launch must have a trick to it that I couldn't figure out. I was able to back in nice, but the water was shallow. We were on the lake about 5 hours. Alex caught the first trout after being on the water for about an hour. Just a little 10" bow hooked on an F4 clown flatfish. Quite a bit of fight though, the water temperature must be just right. Alex began calling
the fish. I caught the next two over a period of about 2 hours, the biggest catch of the day at about 11" on a little white and red Dick Night lure with no bait. The bow hit right after I attached the lure and dropped it in the water. I caught the second one on a redwedding ring double whammy with a crawler, again about 10 minutes after attaching the lure. Both had a lot of action. Weather was decent, seemed like the clouds split over the lake just
like they wanted us to have good weather. I heard it rained everywhere else.
