I got out on the lake this morning at about six, on my first cast I had a nice bass follow my rapola back to the boat, but it wouldn't bite. This happened three more times over the next hour or so. Talk about frustrating! Finally I got a taker on a worm by some lilly pads, but I lost him after about a 15 second fight. On my next cast I broke my line on the hookset.Ouch, a lesson hard learned, always check your line for frays after fighting a fish or getting snagged or tangled. I should of known better!
After retying and a few more pitches to the pads I got another taker, this time I got the 18 incher to the boat, Yeha, my first bass of the year, I haven't gotten out much this year. About 45 minutes later I got a 16 incher on a trout pattern rapala. Then I had to leave cause my battery was getting weak. Maybe I'll try it again Thursday!
