Attempted fishing the 27th but the wind and whitecaps on the lake proved to be a major hindrance. Since Moses Lake is relatively shallow (about 28 feet max), the bottom was ' whipped-up ' and the water was far from clear. I did manage to hook into a fair Walleye (approx. 4 lbs), but lost it at the boat. Sunday was much calmer and I marked a lot of fish, but did not catch anything in the morning. Sunday evening around 5:30 PM (while trolling with
a Walleye Spinner/Worm combination and downrigger at 22 feet (28 feet of water), I finally hooked-up with a fight. It was worth the trip, when all was said and done. The prize? A bright, fat 3.5 pound Rainbow Trout !!

I was told that the majority of the smaller, recently released trout are currently hanging-out at the south end of the lake. I did not fish south of the bridge, so I don't know. My friends, who live in the area had been having very good luck Walleye fishing, prior to the holiday.
