We fished the 19th of April 2000. My three sons and I and we did a lot better then I thought we would ,since the last reports I heard on the fish kill. My 12 year old caught a nice firm fat 7 pd on a slow troll using a red and silver spoon ,Then I got one about 4 pounds on the same rig. Not long after that my six year old hammered one about six pounds on a pink and white spoon I didn't even think would work ,but he had to use it.
He sure he showed me ,and let me know it to.
My oldest one didn't get one , but when we went to get the boat out of the water they saw the fish in the shallow water and then tried to get them to bite buy casting there spoons out over them , need less to say they hammered about five more fish in the 2 to 5 pound range in a hour. The boys thought it was a bummer to have to let them all go but,
I told them they will be there in June but even bigger. We will be back later. The weather was about 70 and not much wind.
