My friend and I got on the lake late - about 10:30. There were 6-8 other tubers on the lake. Everyone was working the shallows where the trout were cruising and slurping emerging chironomids. We had an hour before the wind came up and were able to spot and cast to individual fish. My friend broke off two fish (they are flat-out huge) and I lost one later in the day "trolling" a Woolly Bugger.

The Poachers were in full-force early in the day - 10 or more strong casting their bait off the High Bank. Sounded like they were successful. There were still six or so when we left at 7p.m. so we stopped in Vantage and called the Poachers Hotline. These poachers are migrant workers simply trying to feed a family, but there are put and takem lakes they can fish in. I suggest we all turn the pressure up on our State Fish and Game to enforce the rules. Otherwise our big fish will be gone. Tight lines.
