Got to Big Twin Thursday night and camped at the resort with my new fishing buddy Yancy. Fished early Friday morning after hearing great reports for the last two weekends.
Friday was really windy and after the trolling motor stopped, had to row all weekend. Fished Reefer Flats to the right of the campground. Nothing there so we went in for some lunch. Ben, the owner, told us to hit the little island across from the camp. We
fished size 10-16 chironomids with full sink line. Stripped slowly and most fish hit near the surface. Ten minutes per cast on average. We caught 25 fish over two days and caught four over five pounds. There were a lot of fish around 16 inches
and we caught Lohautons, Rainbows, and Cutts. Beautiful fish despite the blowing wind. Good weekend overall. People need to check the regs. There was a ski boat out there with his 200 horse outboard kicking around. We also saw a lot of powerbait floating around and Dave Davis rigs were the prime tackle choice of some other guys. Single Barbless, no bait, one fish limit. Not one fish each time you go out that day. Anyway -give it a shot.
