Headed out on the lake with our recently acquired boat. It was more of a shakedown cruise for the new boat than a serious fishing trip. I had not been out on the lake before. There were probably 10 to 15 other boats working the lake. The majority were trolling. We picked up three small rainbows, none of which were large enough to justify keeping. We caught all three using a wedding ring tipped with a little bit of nightcrawler flavor power bait. I'd say the average boat had 2 or 3 trout. Many were pulling pop gear and nightcrawlers. I spoke with one fisherman at the dock. He had been out and didn't have any luck trolling so he stopped and fished nightcrawlers about 5 ft under a bobber and picked up 2 nice trout. My fishfinder was showing all the fish right on the bottom. Most of the lake appears to be about 15 feet deep. Most fish were showing on the side of the lake opposite the state boat ramp.
