Me and my son DJ arrived at the lake at 5:30 p.m. this was our first outing this season and we were looking forward to catching fish and spending some quality time together. The wind was up on this afternoon pushing 15 - 20 mph gust. the temp was a cool 65 with cloud cover and some breaks of sunlight.
We headed out from the ramp trolling. DJ had a silver super duper on I had a wedding ring with split worm. We trolled along the south east side of lake with no hits then headed to other side of lake to get out of the wind and that's when I caught a nice 12'' trout. DJ spent no time switching to the wedding ring and worm combo. Little over two hours latter we had eight trout in the boat and was quite satisfied with our first outing of the year.
