We arrived at the lake around 1:30. We were told by two other fisherman who were just leaving that it was slow. We took a hike around the lake (about two miles) While stopping at areas that looked as if they might produce some fish. After we had hiked about two thirds of the way around, we found the perfect spot. With a sliding bobber filled with water over three feet of four pound test with two orange power eggs on a red size eight egg hook I tried my luck. On the first cast, a rainbow slammed my line. It was a nice ten incher, not nearly what I had expected after such a hard hit. We continued our trek around the lake until we came back to where we had started. There I threw the exact same setup of the dock. Once again, on the first cast, a rainbow hit hard, this one about eleven inches. About five casts later on the same setup, a kokanee bent my rod. It too was roughly eleven inches. I had had enough, so I left at about six leaving the fish in the lake. ( I
am strictly catch and release when it comes to small trout.) I'll be back again someday. Until then, tight lines!
