The wife and I were out camping on the Arm this past weekend and we gave walleye fishing a try on Saturday.
We started at McCoys in the morning. Now, a walleye master, I am not, but it was pretty clear after a couple hours that they were not there. We tried a few other spots anywhere from 30-55' with no luck so we headed in for lunch.
After that we tried in front of the campground a bit, but the struggle continued. My wife once again proved to have the better fish instincts, and with a "let's try over there" our luck finally turned around. We found a rocky point that was holding a good school of walleye in about 70'. Red/white jigs with a crawler and a very slow jigging action seemed to be the best combo. We ended up getting 7 to the boat and missed many others. Finished out a beautiful day with some fish tacos back at camp.
