The bite is on at Riffle lake. I went to the fishing area at the dam this time and wasn't sure what to expect. It isn't set up for boats, I had to lug my kayak down about 150 yards of rocky, loose, bank. It was worth it though. I started catching almost immediately and I think I landed close to 15 salmon today, plus one small smallmouth. They were biting until I left at 1:00. The water isn't cold yet, I would say it's around 60. I actually put my foot and calf in so I could get a reasonably accurate temp. Almost all the fish are 10-11 inches, I caught a couple maybe a little bigger. I had one OK sized smallmouth on I think, I heard it shaking and the splash was kind of big, I wish I knew more about the smallmouth here. No trout today.
