Baker Laker Sockeye Opener 2023
My first time fishing Baker for Sockeye in my Oldtown Sportsman PDl Kayak .....so crazy fun! Epic adventure! Special thanks to Josh Hoines, and David Nguyen for supporting me on this adventure!

We launch at Panorama pt., for 5 dollar charge to launch ar 4;30am. Limited out at 5:15 am.

I stayed at 35' to 45' on the rigger at 45' off the clip, I also used a 5 oz dropper at 75' out was the ticket.
I used the Big D dodger from Mac Lures, and Slim Blade too, as for the end I used my custom flys. Tip with coon shrimp.
Speed .9 for troll speed.

Can't wait to return Thursday for our epic Family adventure.
Here's today's youtube video of my adventure....so fun!

Nice work looks fun. I've never been there may take a trip up. How far is Concrete from lake if I stayed up there? Or is camping the best option?

Just before Concrete, and yes there are camping areas. I know there is some free camping up there too. Just got google the free campsites. Thank you!

Awesome - watching this inspired me to try to come out on Thursday with the boys for the first time.

Any pointers? Never fished for Sockeye and don't know the lake very well. But we have a boat and downriggers, and probably could arrive around between 6-7am. Could we get away with Kokanee rods or should we use the stronger Okumas?

Also, any advice trying to catch Kokanee?

Thanks

I only use kokanee rods, fun stuff. You see bite better.

Stay at .8 to .9 speed, coon strip bait, and noise creek area good spot. I'll be there Thursday on too, with my family.

Dam area good spot too. Hope that helps. :)
