Saw the weather was going to turn to winter the next week, so got 2 days in to add some fillets for smoking before hibernating until the weather gets good again.

Fished wednesday on the Spokane above porcupine. There were trout everywhere but I went way up to try for that slim chance at a koke and maybe get a few eyes. Results: 6 eyes (avg. 14") and 20 rainbows (avg. 17" largest 25" and 6+lbs)

Thursday, fished below Keller. Couldn't find any kokes nor heard of anybody getting into them. Had good trout action, landed several dozen
and kept a limit of 5 ea. 19" . 19" was the largest of the day and surprisingly I only boated 2 natives all day.

Technique: slow trolled (around or under 1 mph) soft hoochie type baits in neon colors.
*If anyone wants to load up on trout right now and not have to travel too far, I highly recommend the spokane arm up or down river from porcupine or just below or up from Ft. Spokane.
And fish high in the water column (5-15 ft.) there are lots of fish up high feeding on water fleas and they are easy to catch.
A simple wedding ring tipped with a piece of worm will do just dandy. Or plunking from shore with worms, powerbait or mallows.
Late Fall/Winter Roosey Rainbows are good quality.
