Decided I just couldn't do a 3am wake up to chase kokanee, so instead decided to meet my brother at Lake Goodwin and do a little trout fishing. The fish in Goodwin are usually fat, healthy, and fun. This morning was no different.

I ran Mack's Lure Sling Blade and Double D Dodgers paired with an olive size 4 Wooley Bugger and a green size 6 Doc Spratley fly with 16 inch leaders.

Lots of actions this morning. Strangely a lot of short strikes and bad hook ups. I landed 7, kept my 5, lost a few others on the way in, numerous take downs that were on then instantly off, and got off the water before the fleet of water hooligans showed up which is typical on Goodwin as we get deeper into summer.

Video shows most of the action from the morning.

A bit late comment but always trust ur advice. U ever use regular mini chrome dodgers along with the others. I have slings and regular dodgers but no small double d’s. However I want to add to my arsenal.
