Hey its the "Gator", had a chance to get away for the day on Friday the 17th and do some walleye fishing on one of my most favorite Lakes to walleye fish, Banks Lake, this is the Lake that I learned how to fish for walleyes back in 1980, never heard of a bottom walker before or double Whammeys, (a glorified wedding ring with two hooks and a colored Indiana blade #5)put out by Macks Lure, but that seemed to be the set up back then to catch walleyes,I will always remember my first trip to Banks for walleyes, it was early summer, June, and it was a bright sunny day, I started trolling on the Northwest side of Steamboat Rock and I caught several walleyes over 24" and my personal best of 32" inches, from that day I was "Hooked", well enough of good memories. Friday I met my good friend Gary at Northrup boat launch and off we were fishing for "Gators", it wasn't to long after we started trolling that the first walleye I caught was over 26" ,sponded out female released, then came a 24" Gator, sponded out female released, from then I caught my limit of 8 gators 16-19" long. Also caught my limit of 10 smallmouth bass on the same rig I was trolling for walleyes with, it was a good day on my favorite lake "Banks". Tight Lines and Keep Reelin. Found all my fish in 24-33ft of water, trolling speed 0.9 to 1.2, slow death hooks and smiley blades, 3/4 of a night crawler, Mike's orange crawdad scent. Hope this helps.
