Tried to get up to get the early Coho bite, but the fishing partner wasn't cooperating (she owns half the boat, so that's OK). Finally on the water around 8:15. Trolled off of West point for a couple rounds with nothing and not seeing any nets flying. Went up to Point Wells. No action at 80 feet then kept dropping. Finally got a nice wild fish at 140 feet, purple haze flasher and squid with herring strip. Turned it loose only to realize later that you can keep wild in Area 10--oh well. Caught two dogfish, then lost a salmon (dogfish likely nicked the leader). Finally got a decent coho, also at 140 feet on the border of Area 9/10 (probably good that I released that wild fish). Saw quite a few fish caught mostly to the north--9/10 line up to just north of the ferry lanes.
