Hit Mayfield lake this weekend for some jumbo trout. Picked up 4 on Friday evening and 9 on Saturday morning. Trolling dodgers and mini shrimp spinners with 1oz. dropper weights. I tipped the spinners with tuna/garlic corn left over from my last trip to Rimrock. Had consistent action along the safety line of logs above the dam. Fish were shallow, I only let out 24 feet on the line counter so we were fishing the top of the water column. A few of them even went aerial behind the boat after being hooked. This was my first time fishing Mayfield and it did not disappoint. Almost all the fish were a good size. Will be a full batch in the smoker. As a bonus it was my 1 year old daughter's first time in the boat and she did great. Turns out a two stroke outboard makes perfect white noise for napping children.
