Plan was to get out of the heat! Fishing came as a bonus. Catching, another bonus. Heat was bearable on the water. Plan was to launch at Everett before the low tide. Due to a number of different delays, one being the lack of ice, the tide was too low to launch. Few people stuck in the mud. Be careful out there when the tide is really low. Once the tide came up and didn’t see anyone else stuck, we were off. Plan was either area 10 or the bubble depending on conditions.

Decision was made for area 10. The ride out there was uneventful. Not a lot of boats out. Found a rip near Edmonds and started trolling. Gear down at an early 4:30 pm. After 30 min it was fish on. Clipped resi coho in the box. Wife wanted to get the next one so I kept an eye on the rods. Jellyfish are thick out there. Had to constantly clean gear. With a fresh set up it was fish on! Clip on the downrigger was too snug. Thankfully the fish was still there when it finally popped.

Her fish was better and after a good fight, number two was in the box. Called it just after 6 pm. Not bad for a short time. Pretty fun out there and fish are around. Used a green blinky flasher and white ace hi fly tipped with cured herring. Trolled 3 mph, downrigger at 120 ft on the wire (braid), angle was greater than 45 degrees for the most part. It was windy south of Edmonds and dead calm north. Strange. Tight lines!
