Started my day early so as to avoid the weekend warriors, and the hot sun. Launched at 7am and headed upriver. The fish were scattered but mostly around 15'. I'd catch one, then several hundred yarns down, catch another. After the sun hit the water, the fish moved down to 25'. by 9 am I had 4 and considered my day done. As I was pulling up my gear, the sonar detected deeper fish so I switched from hootchies to hard plastics and immediately hooked up. Pretty sure this is a hatchery chinook. Posting side by side photos. Correct me if I'm wrong!!!!

No question, that is a chinook. Sometimes it can be tough to tell, and that one is easy. The strong silvering on the tail, with large, blotchy spots on both lobes of the tail, is a dead giveaway. I don't know much about that system, whether they stock them, or truck them up, or where they might come from. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Some are planted by the tribes and some spill over from lake CDA. Usually don't eat all that well but great fish to catch. Count as part of your trout limit and do not need t be clipped to keep.
