Man that boat launch is no joke. It was closed to motorized boats but we were allowed to walk kayaks up/down. It's a steep 1/10 of a mile trek though. We were after landlocked coho salmon and some of those triploid rainbow trout they dumped in here last spring. It was super windy and choppy when we got there around 9:30am but it died down about an hour later and was glassy smooth until a little after noon. The fish bite died a little before the wind started picking up again.

I trolled with a 1 oz weight on 1 rod and a 4 oz weight on the other. Both had a dodger and a purple and pink kokanee hoochie tipped with shoepeg corn. Tried out different distances and most fish were picked up with 40 feet of line let out behind the kayak. The 1 oz weight setup did much better. 4 out of 5 fish came from that one.

Ran into a group of guys with Heroes on the Water. So the only 6 people out on the lake that day were kayak anglers. Beautiful day. Only caught 1 coho but also got 4 trout and they were pretty nice. All had worms, like Riffe does.

Are they keeping you from driving your vehicle to the bottom of the boat launch to load/unload?

The launch is closed to boats until the level is at 708 then one lane will be usable but no dock, the other lane won't open till about 720, but the dock will be partly usable...my home waters for 30 yrs

Right, I was just curious if I could drive my truck with a cartopper boat down the ramp and load/unload it there.

Nice catch! Fun on a lighter rod.... Enjoy your info at beginning of your videos. I noticed your above picture and remembered a key point about stringers - read a while ago researching stress in salmonids. . RB actually. They get hook-net-unhook stress- adrenaline pumped throughout their bloodline, permeating the meat if you don't conk-gut-bleed them ASAP or put them in an underwater cage--- aerated cold water live well (15 minutes and stress is gone)-- or (last choice) a stringer.https://locavore.guide/fishing/keeping-your-catch-fresh-stringers-baskets-live-wells-etc Fish "breath" by alternately open-close mouth and gills- creating a flow of water they remove o2 from. With a wire or rope through the mouth- unable to completely close so they lose that needed pressure flow= stress due to being short on oxygen.. Along with the hole you make in their lower jaw for the stringer to exit--- messed up a good thing. Through the gills would slowly asphyxiate them--- under continuous stress to taint the meat- https://www.saltwire.com/cape-breton/opinion/fish-have-a-sophisticated-breathing-system-to-survive-in-water-20326/
