Another day on the Arm with a couple of buddies. We caught 23 eyes and kept 21. Also caught 3 trout, kept 2 for catfish bait and ever so gently released a 5 lb beauty.

"kept 2 for catfish bait and ever so gently released a 5 lb beauty." Now that's funny considering some recent posts ;-)

Nicely done... I stopped there on the 18th but decided the crowd was to much so went to the main lake where I struggled but got enough to make the fry pan stink

I would normally safely release any slimers I catch but I plan on fishing for cats down on the Palouse.

It looks like you got a new bucket, must have just worn the old one out.

Nicely done WalleyeMark, man I have been biting at the bit to get down there and have not gotten the chance yet, life has been busy, but that will change here shortly, I retire on March 24, after 41yrs of service to the state of Washington and plan on getting alot of time on the water, just curious, you said you fish for catfish on the Palouse river? If you don't mind me asking when is the best time to go and where? Sounds like you use chuck's of Rainbow trout to catch them? Well I hope to see you on the water soon, as always Tight Lines and Keep Reelin!! The "Gator"!

Gator, I am new to the whole catfishing thing but after watching a couple of YouTube videos it looks like fun. I heard trout can be a good bait so I am giving it a try. Apparently April and May are the prime time so here in a few weeks I will be giving it a shot.

Also congrats on the upcoming retirement.

I lived in Texas most of my life. I know catfish. The key is something stinky that stays on your hooks. Try this: cut hotdogs into 1-1.5” pieces and place them in a tub. Put some garlic and strawberry koolaid and let sit in the fridge for 24 hours. They’ll attack it. You m-L circle hooks
