Launched at Porcupine Bay and moved just above the buoy 1 area to make long loops in the bay. I have had a lot of luck in this spot and while we weren't catching trophy fish, the came frequently enough to keep one's attention. The weather started off pretty cool, but the plus was the wind started out calm and I don't think it got above 4 mph for the day. Got a bit cloudy in the afternoon and temps dropped accordingly. We ended with 11 walleye keepers (admittedly some smaller than what I am used to keeping), and one bonus Burbot. Great times for the first time out this year. Depths ranged from 25' to 65' with most fish caught in the 40-50 range. Bottom walkers with slow death hooks used.

A good start for sure. Sounds pretty similar to our Friday.
Stay after them, it's the right thing to do.

Just above Porcupine Bay campgrounds. Sets on the Porky side of the river. I have never quite understood the numbering system either. Not sure I have ever noticed #2 over the many years I have fished there.

Gator,

Go upriver from the Porky launch and it is the first green buoy, #1, you run into. Right now it is high and dry on an island.

TiredeMark; Nice to see someone else posting about walleyes.
