Point Defiance 12-6-2020
We Launched at 10am and left at 3pm. High tide was at 9:53 am 12.5 feet, low tide was 7 foot at 4:07pm.
It appears that my job is to clean the bottom. I brought up a lot of line and 2 salmon jigs.
It is the exact opposite from the last time we went. Which was fishing the incoming tide. We tried by were we caught last time. Nothing. So, we went out further. My son caught several there. I caught 2. Then we moved over by the yacht club. He caught a flounder. I decided we needed to move. I drove us down past the other boats, where I could see Owen’s beach, in 80 feet of water. That is where I caught the rest of mine. My son caught a lot, too. And more flounders. We ended with 43 squid for both of us which was about 5 pounds. Many small ones. I figure I caught 13 and my son 30.
At one point he was saying “bottom, bottom, squid” then reeling that squid in. This lasted long enough that even I expected that squid to come up. He got at least 1 triple, a couple doubles. I got a couple of doubles.
