My and my pops set out on 14' tin boat with a little motor and went into a weedy cove at about 11:00 a.m., where we only planned to fish for an hour. Well, we both threw out some floating jitterbugs, but his was blue and mine was yellow with black spots. Mine was also the kind that made the little popping noise above the water. I caught 3 3 lb. largemouth and my dad a 2 lb. smallmouth. We did this all in about 30 minutes, and on the first couple casts we had some fish the size of the jitterbugs chasing it. We figured they were perch and just didn't think anything of it.

We then totally lost track of time and decided to troll the banks of the lake, about 100 feet from the shore. My dad dropped a white rooster tail and I dropped a yellow flatfish with black spots, figuring the same color scheme would work as it did with the largemouths. And let me tell you, it certainly did! I had 1 19", 1 14", and 1 18" brown trout, and I was amazed! It was my dad's first time for my dad to go fishing, so he reeled in his pole every time he saw the pole jiggle (which your not supposed to because it's the water taking the pole down), so he spent most of his trolling time changing lures, but he never did catch anything.

We got back to camp at about 2:30 and my mom was just full of anger. It was a good thing she loved bass, because all I had to do was show her the ice chest full of fish. She sure was quiet the rest of the night, Thank God!
