Out in the water just before 11am and finished up right after 1pm. Sunny day and windy which made it hard to steer my inflatable. Trolled at approximately 1-1.5 mph. Best spot for us was not too far from the WDFW boat ramp and more on the north side of the lake.

First hour and a half had no bite and we feared we were going to get skunked. Fish were at around 35 feet deep in 50-60 feet of water. Some turns and S curves still didn't bring on the bite like usual. Micro hoochies with small spinners on 8" leaders behind Arrow Flash dodger and slightly bent sling blade dodger finally saved the day around 12:30pm. Trolling setup was flat line with a bit of lead 2'-3' in front of the dodger to bring down to depth. Side rods with 2 oz of lead and back rods with 1 oz of lead staggered in set back from the boat to approximate similar depth.

In the end, only got three fish and had to head home to get home in time for my kid's nap time. Two kokanee about 12.5" long, and one rainbow of similar size that was collateral damage. Wanted to let the rainbow go but it seemed bit stressed from having been hooked deep and thrashing in the landing net as he was the first fish in a double, so we decided to keep it. Fish bonked, bled, and chilled as quickly as possible. Kokanee looked like they are approaching spawning time.

Only saw two other boats, and one guy I think bass fishing from a paddle board or some other small thing. Aside from wind, was a quiet day on the water.

Thanks for the report, glad to see there are a few kokanee still left in Meridian!

Thank you for the report and details. Haven't fished out there in awhile! And that's the spot I believe they hold deep in a pocket from what I remember. Pass, pull lines up... pass again! Tight lines!

We learned the productive areas a bit too late, but it was our first time out on a boat here. Will concentrate my effort more next visit.
