Figured I'd fish this lake again before it got busy in the fall after the plantings. Used an inflatable raft with a 30 lbs thrust electric trolling motor and trolled with 2 rods. Fish more concentrated in the middle and north end of the lake from what I could see on my Deeper fish finder. Not as many fish as I'd seen in the past. The ones I spotted were about 20 feet deep in 30-40 feet of water. Trolling at low speeds probably about 0.6 to 1.2 mph with a small lead weight to drop my line down.
Best combo today was a small silver Mack's Double D dodger with green wedding ring and a hammered brass spinner tipped with an inch of nightcrawler. 3 fish brought up to the boat, 2 or 3 lost while reeling them in, a few more small bites that didn't hook up. Might try changing my hooks to tandem splitshot/dropshot hooks. Currently experimenting with using single size 4 Mosquito hooks.
All fish were typical 10-12 inch stockers from earlier in the year. One fish felt bigger and jerked the rod a bit, but it threw the hook before coming up to the boat. Used a rubberized net and wet hands to release each fish in good condition to bite another day.
Only a couple boats on the water today and a couple swimmers.
