Back at it, started off with a topwater @ 8:30. Took a while but I finally got a nice blowup on it. Unfortunately the fish missed completely and never came back.

I started rotating in a crankbait, dropshot, t-rig, and swimbait.

Got a couple of nibbles here and there but it took 2 hrs before I finally hooked up. Thought it was going to be a skunk day lol. I went back to where I lost yesterdays fish since I running out of options. Anyways 2.77# in about 15' of water. Pretty confident this is the same fish from yesterday since the size looks about right.

Started fishing another point that I lost a fish on and fish on! But this one feels bigger. I see color and yep, a good fish. 3.07# SMB.

After the slow start, I landed 4 SMB, all quality fish within an hr time span, all spread out. 2.77#, 3.07#, 2.4#, and 2.24#.

I was also able to land 2 more 1# SMB before I packed up. Done by 12. All fish caught on dropshot in 15-20'.

I talked to a gentleman at the parking lot and he started he had a very similar experience. He also caught 6 and it was very slow for him.

Hi FishingFool,

Thanks for your nice fishing report. I caught a few SMB near the state park/south end in the past years, but never on drop shot rig. May you tell what (plastic?) bait works for you when you fish for Sammamish LK SMB with a drop shot setting? I want to fish this lake for SMB in August.

Thanks a lot.

I use bait fish shaped or worm shaped plastics. Natural colors generally.
