Took the kids out for the afternoon. Decided to see if any salmon had returned yet. Trolled the outgoing starting at salmon beach and around the point toward Owen Beach. Lost my downrigger ball; not quite sure how. No bites anyway. Used the typical flashers (purple haze and green/glow) with some herring tipped ace hi fly’s. Tried 75-125 depth based on where the marks were, fishing in anywhere from 100-250 FOW. Nada.

Picked up some replacement gear at Point Defiance Bot House. Ran over to the south end of Vashon, just east of the ferry, in 60-90 FOW. Easy pickins for sand dabs there. Bottom setup with a little bite of herring on each hook. My son wanted to reel in some dogfish so we caught a few of those. We trolled back on the incoming but no bites again. Seeing lots of marks and big bait balls. No salmon yet...
