Caught a nice limit of walleyes trolling spinners down near the Long Lake dam. We caught a bonus of about 15 perch as well.

I've been wondering when we would see you posting about catching walleyes on Long Lake. I did well pout there earlier this year. Most of the walleyes we caught were over 17" and had a few in the 24-27" range.

AJ - I am hesitant to post about Long because of the probable increase in walleye fisherman. I fished last Saturday with a buddy and we spanked them again; caught over 30 and kept another limit trolling with our smallest keeper at 17 inches and the largest 21 inches. I had another buddy who went out Sunday and only caught 3 in the same areas as Saturday. The increased number of water lice on the weekend along with 75 degree water seemed to definitely make the bite turn off.

BOWMAB - I usually launch at the nine mile launch; I just get there at the crack of dawn to avoid the crowd. I still run into them when I recover my boat though.

I’m not likely to hit it until the ding dongs are done surfing in the fall but just curious. Appreciate the response.
