Tried to squeeze in a quick 2 hour trip in the morning. Met an extremely nice gentleman at the launch and we chatted for a bit and he explained what's been working for him. In our separate boats, we ran up to the weather buoy and he started fishing the surface. He had a lot of action in that 7:00-7:30 window. He was so nice to try to help me out and even let me borrow a setup. Unfortunately for me, this was at 7:30 and the surface bite died. I tried it for 45 mins and handed the rod back to him.
At this point we went our separate ways.

I was starting to run out of time and headed to the shoreline just east of the buoy. Right before I was going to call it, BUMP BUMP BUMP!
I gotta say, I was super surprised. Man! Some of these Cutts really fight! roughly 17" and 1lb 10oz in the boat, I headed home! So difficult to leave after hitting a fish but that's what happens when you try to squeeze in a trip!

Caught it down at 40' with a RMT 5.5" Dodger and God's tooth 50/50 tipped with a nightcrawler. This combo has been killing it for me the last month on Stevens for Kokanee (Check out my report for 5/30 for lake stevens for a great report) and proved worthy to be used on other lakes too.

Great Morning!

Very nice fish, well done Jeffrey!!! When I fish Sammamish, my go to God's Tooth spoons are the 50/50 blue, 50/50 gold, perch, silver shiner, and red/white. I use 3 setups depending on what the fish want and don't use bait as I like to catch and release until I decide to keep a few. I use a dodger with a kokanee rig setup with a 14" leader or a dodger and 48" leader with spoon on fast or slow action or just a swivel with 48" leader and no dodger. Just wanted to share some additional options that work great for me.
