Fishing ban lifted so went to Lake Roosevelt to do some social distancing.. Expected to see lots of boats at Hunters but only five rigs in the parking lot when we arrived at about 8:30 .. Did have a little trouble maintaining two miles between boats a couple of times. Forecast was for 6 mph wind. Blew that. Whitecaps in the morning. Headed to the net pens and started trolling. Brother got a nice 19 inch bow right away and had a couple more bites. Thought we were looking at quick limits. NOT. Averaged about 1 fish per hour but nice size average. After trying several spots with mostly very little success, we decided to stop back by the net pens and do a final troll. Caught a fat hog. 20 inches, but 4 and a half pounds. Ended day with 8 fish, only one under 16" and three over 18". Wouldnt have stayed so long but the weather got nice in the afternoon. Pulled a flasher with wedding ring on the downrigger all day without a bite till the fatty hit. Then it seemed to be the only thing that got bites. Perch fly caught one, orange fly a couple. Red fly with a dodger a couple. Last one on a chartreuse fly.
