There were more float tubes and pontoon boats on Amber today than I've ever seen. That's why I didn't show up until about 5:30 PM. The crowd began to disperse around 7, and the fish began actively feeding on chronomids and midge emergers around the same time. I hooked many, and landed 12 rainbows (some of which were triploids) between 12 and 14 and 1/2 inches during my two and a half hours on the water. These feeding fish were also more than willing to hit wooly buggers and egg-sucking leeches fished on sinking line. It's only going to get better when the baetis mayflies begin hatching. Good luck.
