Bass fishing. Started at 8:30am working my way up the west side of the lake. Things were slow going for the first hour until I caught a couple small dinks on a floating rapala. Not long after that hit my first fish of any size, a 14" smallmouth. By then I was to the midway point on the lake so I moved through and fished the farthest part of the lake. I couldn't quite get my confidence level high enough to work this area. Seemed like being in 25-40 ft deep water within casting range of shore was not quite right. So I went back after an hour to the south end of the lake. Started at the county park and just couldn't seem to get it going. I'd been trying floating rapalas, jig/grubs, spinner baits. I decided to go back to casting worms. Tied on a West Coast Custom Tackle stick bait in green with red speckles. That was the ticket! Started hitting several fish, still nothing big, around 12-13". Ended the day at 1pm with a total of nine fish caught. Not bad, got back some of my confidence. A nice day on the water. A little rain toward the end but who minds when you're catching fish?
