I gave this report 5 stars because of my fishing partners (Randy Rauscher and Ben Eggertson) and catching my PB Chinnok from the Sound. We set out for Possession Pt and dropped our lines at the east side of the bar. As anyone who was out there yesterday knows, the water was pretty dang rough. We dropped our lines and about ten minutes into the troll it was fish on. It was clear this was a nice fish as it peeled line on a strong run. As I staggered around the back of the boat trying to control the fish Ben was trying to keep the boat straight against some big waves and Randy was holding onto the back of my PDF keeping me from going over the side. A bit of a three ring circus for a few minutes...what a hoot! After a great fight Randy scooped a 34 inch clipped Chinook into the net. A real team effort.
The fish fell for a Purple Haze flasher, PH hoochie w/ herring strip on a 32” leader. We left Possession adding a resident coho and fished the oil docks in the after noon picking up a wild Chinook (released).
