My buddy and I launched at Taidnapam and were on the water by 6 a.m. intending to chase some coho.
We started trolling up the river channel, using several different colors of wedding ring behind dodgers. We were into a double of decent fish (14"ish) almost instantly! The bite continued to be pretty hot for the next hour and a half. We culled a number of smaller fish and were almost to our limit of ten when the bite seemed to drop away. Started tipping our hooks with shrimp and we were back in the game. Limiting out shortly thereafter.
Most of the fish we hooked were probably 15 feet or less in 25 to 40 foot of water.
This was our first time doing this, and we had a blast. A big thank you to everyone who has posted reports about this fishery in the past. I credit our success to their information.
Cheers and tight lines!
Jonah
