Went out monday to check out the bite in area 11 and dust off the chinook gear for the first time. my buddy and i launched out of west seattle and headed over to dolphin point. After one broken reel and several shakers we found a deep bait ball and the bite was on!!! quickly CNR two keeper sized Wild chinook. After 3 more passes through the bait we had our limit w/ 9# and 13# kings. Fished green flasher w/moonjelly and cookies n cream spoons. fished between 90-140ft on downrigger in 200-150 FOW @2.5mph. basically just set the ball right below the bait.
would have given it a 5 star day, but after we were done fishing went up north to grab our crab pots we had dropped sunday night only to find that they were empty and somebody had checked them for us! Always set my pots closed with zip ties for this reaason and they had all been cut off! I guess all i can say is at least the pots were not stolen. Still disheartening way to end what was up to that point a great day.
