I’m not sure there are words that explain the Kokanee fishing on Lake Chelan right now but I will try. Outstanding, awesome, lights out are just a few words that come to mind. When you can start fishing at 5am and be done at 645am with 40 Kokanee, that’s crushing it!!

I started fishing at Lakeside, which is in the lower basin on the west side of the lake just above the Lady of the Lake docks. Started in 30’ FOW on out to 45’. I ran 4oz lead balls on the outside rods at 35’ on the line counter, 3oz lead balls on the back rods at 50-60’. I was running Rocky Mountain Tackle 5.5” dodgers and Plankton Squids in orange and pink. My leaders lengths are 11” (2 x dodger length). My speed was 1.3-1.4 mph.

The fish have great color and are quite feisty right now. This is the best Kokanee fishing I have ever seen on Lake Chelan.
