This is a late report from last month. Fished Harts for the first time with the boat. My bro has fished there for years from shore at the launch area. He always comes back with big stories but no fish, so my other bro and I agreed to try out our new Livescope sonar there for a shakedown.

The weather was good, but the fishing was low. We spent a good bit of time out in the center of the lake testing the sonar by looking at lures, and some PVC pipes I had suspended below a float.

I marked a bunch of fish hugging the bottom out in 20 ft to 50 ft depths, and a few swimming around at mid depths, but my bros wanted to target the shallows instead. They watch too many bass fishing videos.

Anyway, they managed to catch two little smallies over the next several hours. Both right up in shallow water.

The Livescope is fabulous. I thought the Panoptics we had was great, but this is a whole new ball game. Im not sure why we got it though, if my bros wont fish where the sonar says fish are at? ;)
