Had a fun day on Stevens this morning. Launched 6:15ish, and was probably fishing right at sun-up, around 6:30. Started one line about 5 feet down with and Elgin Fishing God's Tooth Spoon in 50/50 blue with a 12 inch leader. The other line had another God's Tooth Spoon, this one a 50/50 brass/nickel at 20 feet down with a 16 inch leader. I pretty quickly decided 12 inch leaders weren't working for me, and neither was the surface area. Wound up fishing the rest of the day with 1 line at 15, the other at 20 feet. Had a lull of almost an hour, but otherwise the action was pretty consistent. Used Dick Nite dodgers, 1 in moon jelly, the other a clown pattern. Garlic Bloody Tuna corn dyed orange on the pointy end. I never had to change lure types or colors. Most of the time with kokanee, if you aren't getting bit, it just takes a small change, not complete lure change outs. Today, just a slight adjustment in leader length and depth.
Water temp hovered around 52 all morning. There was a little surface activity, but I was never able to get fish to go up top. Speed for me today to get bites was between 1 - 1.2 mph.
