I know others have landed more fish in a day and rated their trips lower than a 5 but I'm giving this day a 5 because we finally located some fish and the weather was amazing, FINALLY!
The Packernut and I dropped out first lines in the mouth, a little before 8am. we landed the first fish, a nice 19"er in about the first 20 minutes. Only found one more fish, an 18"er there then moved down the lake. There we found 3 or 4 more nice fish from 16-19". After going fishless for a while we headed back to the mouth where we got into another batch and landed several more for a total of 17 walleyes for the day. We tossed back 5 dinks and took home a dozen fish in that 16-19" range. They had me a little confused. The first fish came out of 30 feet of water. The next in 50, then we lost one from 20. We changed locations and found them from 25ish to 89 feet. I was not afraid to search in shallow or deeper water through out the day after reading reports of fish being caught from 5 to 125 feet of water within the last week. They sure make it a little more challenging when they don't know what depth they want to hang out in. I'll be glad when the water warms and the pike start biting :)
We caught fish on bottom bouncers and jigs throughout the day. Weather was stupendous with temps seeming to reach high 50s the low 60's would be my guess, and there was no wind all day.
