We launched at Fort Spokane about 09:00, they have dropped the lake another 10' since we were there a couple weeks ago. Air temp was 35 degrees and water temp ranged from 37-41 depending what part of the lake we were in. There were quite a few more trucks in the lot today than there were two weeks ago Thursday (only four that day). We headed up the arm towards the narrows (I can't wait for Porcupine to reopen!!) Once there, we started jigging some of our regular spots for burbot, they have been moving around getting ready for the spawn, and today they were running shallow 30-35 FOW instead of the 80-90 FOW we have been finding them in. We came down the arm around noon and decided to check out Hawk Creek, and found more burbot from the north shore of Hawk Creek towards Seven Bays. Between the three of us we caught 12 nice burbot and a 12 inch walleye that was thrown back for a later day.
Jig color didn't seem to matter today, just had to hit them on the head and set the hook once they took it.
