The day started out foggy and a little cool. Bob Johansen was showing me another of his "harem", Nahwatzel. He had mentioned how clean the lake was and I would concure. We started fishing by the line of pilings and a bassier looking spot I could not pick. Unfortunately, either the bass weren't in a biting mood or were some place else. We moved on to some other spots but didn't find much luck until we worked the undeveloped area of the lake that had some great bass habitat - downed trees reaching into 12-15 foot deep dropoffs. Bob quickly nailed a couple bass just shy of a pound each on a rapalla and I got a similar fish on a worm. But soon enough the water shallowed up again. By then it was around 11am and the sun had come out, the fog was gone, and it was time to try a different lake. Nahwatzel was all in all kinda slow. On to Phillips...
