Using dropshot rigs with nightcrawlers. Several perch and baby bass. Son caught a 19" smallmouth bass, 2.25 lbs. That thing was a monster.

A 19" bass in Sammamish is great. Not so many of those any more, or so it seems lately. I used plastics on DS all day and had consistent action, and easier to deal with than crawlers. Not so many perch that way. At least there was a lot of catching happening today, but no monsters.

We put him back, so you still have a chance to catch him yourself!

I always use plastics, my son uses worms. He catches fish all day and I get nothing. Obviously, I'm using the wrong plastics. What do you use?

Since you're using ds, use a 4" to 5"ds worm. Plain tail is fine. Nothing fancy needed. Green pumpkin seems to be the hot color this year, but others work also. Just be sure to bring it back slowly and keep the weight on the bottom. And don't set the hook, just reel in slowly and let them fight you for it. With a DS hook, they do all the work for you. I have a friend who tries to set the hook and he usually pulls it out of their mouth. Some day he'll learn. Good luck.
