We launched the boat at 5:45 and was fishing by 6am. We fished from Indianola to Kingston with the 20 other boats that were out there. Fishing was poor. We caught a few shakers, had a 4-5# Coho come off at the boat and had a handful of nice hits. We used spoons, hoochies, old goat lures and plugs. The one small coho came on an Old Goat lure in white, blue and green (I believe it is the OG2 which is the thinner version and looks like bait fish). We saw a ton of bait and saw some nice schools on the fish finder but not many willing biters. I did talk to one guy who had two small coho at the launch and he caught them on cut plug herring which was the only thing we didn't try. I also saw one of the guide boats stop trolling for salmon and start jigging for bottomfish. That was pretty good indicator of how fishing was today as I only saw 2 nets hit the water.
The tides were good today with high tide at 9am so we fished 2 hours on both sides of high tide. Until next time Puget Sound. . . .
