Decided to fish for a couple of hours on our Nation's birthday so headed to Lake Ki. Started fishing about 10:30 am using a 6 oz pinch weight with a 50' setback to Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoons. I used 1 rod only and began at a depth of about 25' down. This proved to be a very successful depth. God blessed with 11 feisty rainbows of which 9 were caught using the Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoon perch pattern set on fast action. The other 2 fish were caught on the rainbow trout pattern set on slow action and the yellow top pattern set on fast action. Had a lot of bites today that didn't stick which was interesting. Quite a few folks out enjoying the great weather and the day off wetting lines. All fish released to fight another day and one fish barfed out a big glob of yellow dough bait--nice. Wishing all tight lines!

The video below shows most of the action for the day.

Nice report and video. Could hear a few loud booms there while you were fishing!

Yeah, someone had the loud stuff. I tried to stay away from that area!

I like your setup .looks like it is very efficient. Also the downrigger clip with the cannonball. Never seen that before will have to try that with the kayak. Thank You . Looked like a Fun Day.

Interesting! Is that really a downrigger clip that attaches a weight to the main fishing line, but doesn't use a downrigger cable to drop the weight? How much weight can you attach like that before it would pull itself off the fishing line?

Thank you! It is a very easy setup to use for sure.

It is a downrigger clip with a cannonball weight attached. I have not used any weight more than 6 oz so not sure how much weight it can take before pulling off the line.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. :) I went out on July 4th too. Blackman's lake in Snohomish. Didn't catch anything. Lots of fireworks around the lake. I am adding Gods tooth to my wish list for my tackle box!
